Subtlety Is Key in Travel Sales
Take a moment to think about your retail shopping experiences over the past few years. Chances are, you remember at least a few times when the customer service at a large store left something to be desired. You left unsatisfied, with a sense that the company didn’t care much whether you were happy or not – either way, their business was booming. There’s much to be learned from these experiences, especially when applied to your home business.
Customers respond much differently to a direct selling opportunity, as it feels more like a one-on-one informational session than anything else. People don’t appreciate a hard sell, so be sure to remain subtle if you’re offering vacation packages and other travel services. Remember to be honest and courteous when answering questions, and don’t resort to hyperbole. Great trips and vacation packages basically sell themselves because they are so desirable to the average person.
